Mayor Plaridel Sanchez vetoed the SB Resolution

On February 5, 2003, the Sangguniang Bayan Members of Pandan, Antique passed a resolution which goes like this, SB RESOLUTION FAVORING THE PUTTING-UP OF A POWER PLANT IN PANDAN, ANTIQUE. It was questioned if there was a majority but it was carried out anyway by the Sangguniang Bayan Members of Pandan, Antique, Philippines.

On February 11, 2003, during the visit of Sen. Loren Legarda in Pandan, and with all the activities and chaos, Mayor Plaridel E. Sanchez VI was asked to sign several papers at the stage at the plaza in Pandan regarding request for funding via Sen. Loren Legarda. In it was also the SB Resolution favoring the putting-up of a power plant in Pandan, Antique. He was trusting enough to sign the papers without properly reading them knowing that the documents were for Sen. Legarda as the senator will be leaving Pandan soon.

The next day, early in the morning, Mayor Sanchez left Pandan without realizing that he signed the SB Resolution implying that he favorably endorsed the resolution. When Mayor Sanchez arrived after three days, he was able to know what he did. Mayor Sanchez then explained that it was not in good faith when he signed the SB resolution. With that, Mayor Sanchez said that he will issue a VETO letter to redeem what happened.

True to his word, Mayor Plaridel E. Sanchez VI issued a VETO letter to redeem and rectify everything. Mayor Sanchez vetoed the SB resolution. Mayor Sanchez rejected the SB resolution favoring the putting-up of a power plant in Pandan, Antique by exercising a veto.
