Sen. Loren Legarda visited Pandan, Antique

On February 11, 2003, Senator Loren Legarda-Leviste went to Pandan, Antique to launch her “Luntiang-Pilipinas” and to celebrate the Evelio Javier Foundation Anniversary. Sen. Loren Legarda-Leviste is popularly known and normally just being called as Sen. Loren Legarda.

With the present disturbing issue in Pandan regarding the proposed diesel power plant in Barangay Patria, town folks in Pandan including the schoolchildren attended the affair but at the same time brought some streamers and placards showing their protest against the NAPOCOR’s proposed diesel power plant.

Sen. Legarda was touched by the concern and overwhelmed by the protest of the people of Pandan especially the children. Sen. Legarda showed her support to the people in protesting the NAPOCOR’s plan in building a diesel power plant in Patria. During her speech, she told the people of Pandan that for as long as she is in the senate she will never allow that diesel power plant to be put up in Patria.

A few days before Sen. Legarda visited Pandan, she filed a resolution at the senate to investigate in aid of legislation the propriety of putting up a diesel power plant in Patria, Pandan, Antique, Philippines.
